About me

My passion for the beauty of nature and the natural world started from a very young age.  I was very fortunate to have been raised in a small country town in the heart of South Africa and it was there that my love for nature was developed.  My parents played a big role in nurturing this in me.  We would spend days out camping in the field under clear African skies not even a mere 10 km from town.  It was magic and I just couldn’t get enough of the peace and quiet that I would experience while watching the sun set from high on a mountain ridge.

I love spending time in the great outdoors and even better, I love to travel to different destinations all over the world and experience anything nature has to offer.  Wildlife is truly my passion and since I can remember I have always been mesmerized by animals in their natural environment.  I love to photograph big and small animals and although I have my favourite subjects I would rarely pass up an opportunity to photograph any animal.

Africa is where my heart belongs, as this is the place of my childhood and where my love for nature and wildlife began.  The people and animals that call this place home are truly unique and so incredibly diversified.  The abundance of beautiful animals and scenery is overwhelming and is any photographers dream.  Living in Canada now, my dream is to visit Alaska and the Yukon Territories.  I want to search for Polar Bears in the Northern part of Manitoba and visit the ice worlds of Svalbard and Iceland.   There is so much more that I want to experience and hopefully I would be able to capture these beautiful and wild places through my camera’s lenses.

Nature is all around us; even in a big city or town you will find some jaw dropping moments as Mother Nature presents herself to us.  We should slow down more in life and just appreciate the small things that we so often miss.  God’s creation is so abundant all around us; it is impossible not to be amazed by it.  Today I am very thankful that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with a love and passion for nature and all things wild and wonderful and even more thankful that He has blessed me with a beautiful wife and two young energetic boys that loves to experience all these amazing things with me.  I dare you to go out in the outdoors more often and experience nature to the full.

“Reading about Nature is fine, but if a person walks in the woods and listen carefully, he can learn more than what is in books, for they speak with the voice of God. – George Washington Carver”
