Frequently Asked Questions

  • With a passion for the outdoors and a love of photography I prefer to be away from big crowds.  Therefor all my tours are small intimate tours and we concentrate on experiences in nature with sweeping vistas rather than city skylines.  With my knowledge of wildlife and photography I can help you get the very best photos and experiences that will take your breath away.

  • Most certainly!  Although we concentrate on photography you can be assured that you will still have a great time.  Early mornings and late afternoon is typically when animals are the most active.  So even as a non photographer you will be able to experience animal behaviour that a lot of folks never get to witness.  If a cellphone is all you carry I can still guide you through basic tips and tricks to help you showcase your amazing holiday to your friends and family.

  • Everyone is welcome.  Any kind of experience are always best enjoyed with  loved ones.

  • Yes it is very safe.  We will not venture out on our own and will only use qualified professional guides that know the area.  We are not there to disturb the bears in any way and will always strive to not interfere with their daily routines.  We won't push the boundaries and will keep a safe distance from the bears at all time.  Besides giving the bears space will result in much more natural looking images and experiences as you will be able to witness their everyday behaviour.

  • Yes all activities mentioned in the itinerary are included in the price.    Any activities that you wish to participate in but is not mentioned will be for your own account.

  • Yes Travel insurance is very important.  Unexpected incidents can occur at any time and you want to know that you are covered.  Travel protection plans can cover you against Luggage Delay, travel delays, trip cancellations, emergency medical expenses, emergency evacuations and so much more.  If you need more help please get in touch and I will provide a few options for you.

  • A complete packing list will be send out closer towards the departure date.

  • South Africa is  a low risk malaria area but it is still recommended to take pills 24 hours before you enter the Game reserve areas.  Your local Doctor will be able to tell you what type of pills to get.  Although the risk is low it is still better to prevent than to cure.  No need to have Malaria pills if visiting Cape Town and Surrounding area or game lodges in the Eastern Cape for example.

  • Yes you just need to be smart about certain things. I will send out more information later regarding safety tips.  We will only partake in activities if it is safe to do so but majority of activities is in high population tourist attraction areas with necessary securities in place.

  • Yes, the animals are not there to hurt anybody but sometimes they can be a little bit curious and can get the adrenaline pumping.  Rest assured though that working with top level guides and rangers that understand animal behaviour is the key.   If they approach the vehicle it is more often than not just out of curiosity and with no intention to harm or damage anything.  We will not put you in dangerous situations just for the sake of a photo.  After all the animal's welfare are top priority and there is no exception to this rule!

  • I am originally from South Africa with extensive travel experience in and around South Africa and some neighbouring countries.  I have Local knowledge of some of the best places, restaurants, wineries , tourist attractions etc to visit that a travel agent might not be able to tell you about.   I am very familiar with all the best Game lodges and best game viewing areas and also how to get to these reserves. I take pride in myself by teaming up with some of the best shuttle services, guesthouses and game lodges to make your stay as memorable as possible.

  • Honestly why not do both?  Cape Town area or anywhere along the coast for that matter have some of the most beautiful beaches around and can be a very attractive option to start your honey moon or special getaway.  Pair it up with some fine dining and wine tasting with exceptional views all around and you really will cherish every moment for life.

Head to a Game lodge in a big five resort and you will experience some top class luxurious accommodation paired with exceptional service.  And the game viewing will just be the cherry on top.  Your honeymoon will be special and you will remember it for as long as you live.

  • Glad you asked and the answer is yes absolutely.  Not all the lodges are children friendly but luckily there is quite a few that caters very well for children.  They even provide interactive children's play areas so mom and dad can enjoy a cold drink at the swimming pool.  On game drives there would be extra safety rules in place that parents need to make sure they pay attention too.  Your children will love seeing all the animals while learning about them.

  • There is no real straight forward answer as all the seasons have something beautiful to them.  Typically the winter months are great for wildlife viewing but it might not be the best in Cape Town as they can experience cold wet weather during this time.  The summers can be hot but nothing a cold beer and a swimming pool can't fix.  Wildlife viewing might be more difficult with the long grass and lush green bush but that is entirely dependent on the rainfall.  Spring and fall is fairly good months to travel but temperatures can fluctuate a bit.  All in all no matter what time of year you visit it can be fantastic and I am here to help you decide which will be better.  Get in touch!

  • Yes all dietary options can be accommodated if its been requested prior to your trip.
